The gene trap vector pUC17, which contains an En splice acceptor, lox71 site, lacZ gene, neo cassette, loxP site and lox2272 site, was inserted into intron 2 upstream of the translation initiation codon in exon 3. Insertion of the gene trap vector using cre mediated cassette exchange results in the deletion of 10 bp. The absence of transcript expression was confirmed by RT-PCR. (J:140275)
