The endogenous DQ52 and all four heavy chain J elements were replaced by a rearranged heavy chain V 3H9 gene encoding an H chain of anti-dsDNA antibody with two amin acid substitutions. These substitutions were an arginine for an aspartate at position 56 (A56R) and an arginine for a serine at position 76 (S76R). A neomycin resistance gene was also included upstream of the construct.
