The transgene construct contained 1.4 Kb of the H2-Ld promoter driving expression of the human IL6 cDNA which had a 340 bp 3' untranlated region deleted, to increase mRNA stability. A 770 bp fragment of this construct was inserted into the rabbit beta-globin sequence, resulting in a 3.3 kb fragment which was injected into fertilized C57BL/6 eggs. (J:40405)
