This transgene consists of a 2.2 kb fragment of the bovine rhodopsin promoter driving expression of a full length human VEGFA cDNA followed by an intron and polyA site from the mouse protamine gene. Thirteen to fifteen copies of the transgene were incorporated in this line. MRNA expression analysis detected a modest signal at P7, a strong signal at P14, and only faint expression at 3 months of age in the retinas of hemizygous mice. (J:41411)
