A transgenic construct containing the human IL6 gene and rabbit beta-globin sequence under the control of the mouse H-2Ld promoter was injected into fertilized C57BL/6 mouse eggs. Human IL6 protein is detected in serum by ELISA. mRNA is detected in the spleen, lymph nodes, thymus, heart, lung, liver, kidney, and intestine, but not in brain tissue. (J:40405, J:138762)
