Exons 1 through 3 were replaced with a lacZ gene and a floxed neo cassette. Germ line, cre-mediated recombination was used to remove the neo cassette. The absence of protein product was confirmed by western blot analysis on muscle, heart, intestine and brain extracts. (J:137591)
