A cassette containing a floxed version of the open reading frame followed by a cre/ERT fusion gene was inserted to replace the endogenous gene. This allele expresses a normal Neurog3 protein unless exposed to Cre recombinase, which then causes recombination of the loxP sites and expression of the cre/ERT fusion. (J:136131)
