Exon 2 containing the translation initiation codon was replaced with a lacZ/neo cassette. The absence of transcript was confirmed by RT-PCR on heart extracts. Reporter gene expression was detected in cardiomyocytes, vascular endothelial cells of the lung and heart, the cerebral cortex and in the osteocytes of the bone. (J:136246)
