Tg(H2-Ea*deltaY)54Dim

A 9 kb fragment of the H2-Ea(k) from the A/J mouse (clone lambdaA/J p34.13) was modified at 3 positions creating the WE32 construct (modified H2-Ea). This was used as the basis for a mutant H2-Ea gene having a deletion of the Y box (from position -61 to position -48). The resulting 8 kb transgenic construct WEdeltaY301 was injected into (C57BL/6 x SJL)F2 embryo pronuclei. Multiple lines - 22, 45, 54, 58, and 59, were derived, and 54 was donated to The Jackson Laboratory. S1 nuclease mapping shows that little H2-Ea mRNA is expressed in the spleen.
