The transgenic construct for Tg(Pfkl)224Yg has 2.9 kb of the 5' genomic region, the first exon, first intron, and some of the second intron of Pfkl followed by the cDNA sequence extending to the 3' untranslated sequence and then genomic sequence from the 3' untranslated region was place downstream of this. A 22 base pair deletion was introduced into this 3' untranslated sequence in order to provide a system for detection of transgene-derived transcript. Line 224 was found to have several dozen copies of the transgene. (J:18425)
