A tamoxifen-inducible form of cre recombinase and a frt-lanked neomycin selection cassette was put under the control of Jam2 promoter sequences. Transgenic founder mice were crossed with Flpe transgenic mice to remove the neomycin selection cassette. Expression of Cre was confirmed in a subset of retinal neurons upon tamoxifen induction.
