A lacZ cassette with a nuclear localization sequence and a PGK-gpt/neo cassette were inserted after the translation initiation site in the first exon and replaced part of the first exon through the first intron. The absence of endogenous transcript expression and the presence of a lacZ transcript was confirmed by RT-PCR on brain extracts. This is a null allele. (J:132553)
