The loxP flanked neomycin cassette was introduced between exon 1 and 2, then exon 2 encoding the V domain was replaced with the corresponding human sequence. The neo cassette was later excised by cre recombinase expressing transgenic mice. Human SLAM V domain specific MAb confirmed expression of human/mouse chimeric SLAM protein in thymocytes. (J:117810)
