A gene trap vector containing a beta-geo cassette was inserted into intron 4 and resulted in a fusion protein at exon 4. Real-time PCR shows that mRNA levels are reduced by 95% in embryos and 85-95% in adults, depending on tissue examined. Protein is undetectable in most adult tissues, however, low levels are detected in testes. This is a hypomorph. (J:132078)
