This transgene consists of 3.9 kb of the mouse periostin promoter (up to the translation start codon) driving expression of a cre/EGFP fusion gene. Cre expression is seen in cells of the Schwann cell lineage after E11. The EGFP gene is not functional, either in vivo or in vitro. (J:131914)
