6.2 kb of sequence containing the upstream enhancer/promoter and 1.3kb downstream sequence containing exon 1 and part of exon 2 were used to drive Cre expression. Transgene expression was observed in numerous mesenchymal cells including fibroblasts, articular chondrocytes and myoblasts, skin keratinocytes, and underneath the epithelial layer of the gut.
