This transgene consists of a 1.95 kb fragment containing the human keratin 14 promoter and enhancer sequences followed by a 1.7 kb cDNA containing the complete mouse angiopoietin 1 coding region and the human keratin 14 polyadenylation sequence. Transgenic mice overexpress angiopoietin 1 in the basal keratinocyte layer of the epidermis and in keratinocytes lining the hair follicles. (J:50482)
