The second amino acid encoded by exon 3 was replaced with a stop translation codon and the remainder of exon 3 and exon 4 were replaced with an IRES Tau-LacZ and neo cassette. The absence of endogenous protein product was confirmed on E14.5 head and trunk extracts and E18.5 head extracts. Beta-galactosidase is not expressed from this allele. (J:130322)
