A lacZ-neo cassette was inserted into exon 2 deleting the portion that encodes the DNA binding domain. The insertion produces a frame shift in the case of alternative splicing. The absence of a transcript and protein product was confirmed by RT-PCR and immunohistochemistry. (J:129851)
