A 14-kB genomic fragment containing the entire human angiotensinogen gene and including 1.3Kb of 5' flanking region and 3'flanking region was used to create transgenic mice. Copy number is estimated to be greater than 100. High levels of mRNA encoding human angiotensinogen are found in transgenic mouse liver, and significant levels are detected in kidney and heart. Low levels are detectable in all other tissues examined. In addition to line 2-5, line 3-2 was also created, and has a similar copy number and expression profile. (J:129502)
