The transgenic construct contains a GFAP promoter used to drive the expression of a cDNA encoding the human wild-type amyloid precursor protein (695 isoform). In this transgenic mouse line, human APP protein is expressed in astroglia. Another line, line gae-III (GFAP-ApoE4 line 3) was also established. (J:128837)
