Tg(Myh6-Map2k1*)1Jmol

A Map2k1 gene that encodes a constitutively active protein by substituting glutamines for serines 217 and 221 was put under the control of the cardiac specific Myh6 promoter. Nine independent lines were created with transgene copy number ranging from 2 to over 40. Transgene expression was detected in heart muscle at levels 3.9 to 6.3 fold higher than expression of endogenous Map2k1. This is a representative record for all lines. (J:66102)
