A 7.8 kb fragment from codon 165 in exon 2 through exon 2 and its downstream intron were deleted and replaced with a lacZ gene and neo cassette using Velocigene technology. The neo cassette was removed by cre-mediated recombination. The absence of protein was confirmed by western blot analysis on protein extracts from E14.5 hearts. (J:128012)
