Human cDNA encoding the cytoplasmic protein MX1 was put under the control of the murine Hmgcr promoter. Founder mice were generated with on a genetic background that lacks functional Mx1 and Mx2 genes. Transgenic mice expressed protein in the brain, heart, kidney, spleen, thymus, and lung. (J:128067)
