Using the same homology regions as contained in the targeting vector used to generate Admtm1Unc, the gene region and 3.7 kb of the 5' promoter region was duplicated. The insertion was confirmed by Southern blot analysis. The increased transcript and protein production was confirmed by RT-PCR and western blot analysis, respectively, of kidney tissue. (J:125933)
