A transgenic vector was designed to create a rat synaptotagmin 1/enhanced cyan fluorescent protein (ECFP) fusion protein under the control of a mouse Thy1 promoter lacking exon3 and the flanking introns (to make gene expression neuron-specific). Expression is detected only in the brain with fluorescence observed throughout the brain, marking synaptic vesicles. (J:105052)
