Cre mediated recombination removed an Frt-flanked neo cassette and the part of exon 18 which codes for the transmembrane and signal-transducing domains. Immunostaining confirms the absence of expression in the protruding tips of the eyelids and in epithelial cells of the cornea. (J:126813, J:127019)
