The transgene consists of 6.3 kb of the mouse Mbp promoter, a nuclear localization signal, a cre recombinase gene and a polyadenylation signal. The construct was microinjected into fertilized C57BL/6 eggs. Mice of line 29 were shown to only express cre in the oligodendrocytes in the brain, and testis also, using RT-PCR. (J:126593)
