Exon 7 was removed by cre-mediated recombination and results in an out of frame translation. The absence of a wild-type allele in mouse embryonic fibroblasts was confirmed by RT-PCR using primers located in exon 6 and 9. However, higher levels of an alternative splice form without exons 7 and 8, which is missing the TRAF2 and NEMO binding sites, are produced. (J:126113)
