Genomic sequence from the ATG in exon 1 through exons 8 was replaced with a beta-gal-pA and TKPneo cassette then knocked into the open reading frame to produce a null reporter allele. Expression of the lacZ was confirmed by X-gal assay and the absence of a transcript was confirmed RT-PCR. (J:125194)
