A single loxP site was inserted upstream of exon 11 and a floxed hygromycin cassette was inserted in intron 12. ES cells positive for these insertions were also transfected with a cre expressing vector resulting in the excision of exons 11 and 12 as well as the selection cassette. No protein can be identified immunologically in mice homozygous for this allele. (J:125257)
