A N-lacZ reporter gene and a loxP-flanked neomycin resistance cassette was inserted in frame to the initation codon of this gene. Mice were crossed with Cre recombinase transgenic mice to remove the resistance cassette. Northern blot and immunohistochemical analysis on brains of homozygous mice confirmed lack of expression of this gene with no compensatory increases in expression of the related Ntng2 gene.
