A LacZ gene and a floxed neomycin selection cassette were inserted in frame after amino acid 17, deleting sequences encoding amino acids 18 through 387. Quantitative RT- PCR on lung tissue failed to detect endogenous gene expression in homozygous mice. LacZ expression was not detected in homozygous mice. (J:102090, J:124469)
