The 1950 bp cDNA for the entire coding region of human PTGS2 was inserted into the second exon of the rat neuron-specific enolase gene (Eno2). The construct also contains the polyadenylation signal from the SV40 late region. This construct was microinjected into one-cell B6C3F1 mouse oocytes. Transgene mRNA is expressed only in the brain as shown by Northern blot, and Western blot showed human PTGS2 protein expression in brain tissue homogenates. (J:100973)
