Tg(Thy1-APP)4Vln

cDNA encoding the human wild-type amyloid precursor protein (695 isoform) was cloned into the pTSC vector in the mouse Thy1 gene. The linearized minigene was injected into prenuclear embryos from FVB/N females. Human APP protein is expressed in hippocampus, parietal and frontal cortices at 2-5 times the endogenous APP levels, at lower levels in olfactory bulb and thalamus, and at very low levels in the cerebellum.
