The transgene contains the bovine thyroglobulin promoter, a rabbit beta-globin intron, the E6 and E7 protein-coding genes of human papillomavirus 16 (HPV16) and a polyadenylation signal. Real-time PCR analysis detected E7 mRNA in the thyroid glands and in medullary epithelial cells of the thymi, but not in liver, spleen or whole thymi of transgenic mice. E6 expression was not examined. (J:121727)
