A targeting vector was designed to insert an IRES-YFP-polyA cassette followed by a loxP-TK(delta)-neo-loxP cassette 55 nucleotides downstream of exon 4 splicing acceptor, thereby eliminating the remainder of the ORF. The floxed neo was subsequently removed by crossing with mice expressing cre recombinase in the germline. (J:122275)
