A loxP site, and a frt-flanked neomycin resistance cassette was inserted upstream of exon 2, and another loxP site and an EcoRI restriction site was inserted 1 kb downstream of exon 2. Correct targeting was confirmed by Southern blotting and genomic PCR. (J:139846)
