Exon 6 was replaced by a neomycin resistance cassette. With the gene having 3 transcription start sites, loss of exon 6 would shift the reading frame in any residual transcript. Northern blot, immunoprecipitation and immunoblot confirmed absence of all isoforms in mutants. (J:121302)
