A gene trap vector containing a betageo-IRES-PLAP-pA was inserted into intron 8 of the locus. A fusion protein consisting of exons 1-8 and the beta-geo was detected at low levels, and Western blot confirmed absence of wild-type protein in spleen and thymus. (J:119847)
