In vivo cre mediated recombination removed all of exon 2. The absence of protein product was confirmed by western blot of tissue from homozygous mice, which showed antibody cross-reactivity to Nxph1, and from double homozygous mice lacking Nxph1 as well in which no protein band was detected.
