Exon 4 was replaced with a neomycin cassette, resulting in the splicing of exon 3 to exon 5. The sequences encoding the first coiled-coil domain were removed from the locus. RT-PCR demonstrated that the mutation eliminated nearly all detectable mRNA downstream of the neo cassette. (J:120068)
