A targeting vector was designed to insert a loxP site into intron 1 and a loxP-flanked neo/cytosine deaminase cassette into intron 2. Transient expression of cre recombinase resulted in the removal of exon 2. Immunoblot confirmed absence of protein in mutant duodenal lysates. (J:119528)
