This transgene carries the Notch1 intracellular domain downstream of a chicken beta-actin promoter (CAG promoter) and a floxed chloramphenicol acetyltransferase gene (cat, a stuffer sequence). Upon cre-mediated excision of the cat gene, the modified allele expresses Notch1 in tissues where Cre is expressed. (J:108444)
