Tg(Thy1-cre)703Vaw

A 1.1kb Cre-containing cDNA fragment was fused to the Thy promoter from the Thy-1.2 expression cassette. Crosses to Z/AP or ROSA reporter mice and subsequent beta-galactosidase staining assays were used to tested transgene insertion. Twelve independent lines derived from eleven founder mice exhibit variable expression in retinal neuroblast layer, retinal ganglion cell layer, cortex neuroblast layer and cortex postmitotic cells, cerebellum external ganglion layer, cerebellum Purkinje cell layer, cerebellum granule cell layer, the choroid plexus, spinal cord and dorsal root ganglia.
