The transgene contains 3 kb of 5' flanking DNA, 78 bp of 5' untranslated sequence and 832 bp of the first intron of the human beta-actin gene driving expression of a full-length cDNA encoding human chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 2 followed by an SV40 polyadenylation signal. RT-PCR analysis demonstrated high levels of human CCL2 mRNA in spleen, thymus, lymph nodes and peritoneal exudate cells and lower levels in liver, testis, brain and kidney of transgenic mice. ELISA showed serum CCL2 to be greatly elevated. (J:118309, J:118310)
