A floxed neomycin resistance cassette was inserted in the intron between exons c2 and d. A third loxP was inserted in the intron between exons e and f. The floxed neo was subsequently removed from one correctly targeted ES cell clone using a cre expression vector. Resulting mice have loxP sites flanking exons d and e. (J:125373)
