A gene trap vector was inserted between exons 5 and 6, leading to the truncation of exons 6 to 17 encoding the second fibronectin type III repeat in the extracellular domain all the way to thecarboxyl terminal end. The remaining ectodomain encoded by exons 1 to 5 was fused to neo and betagalactosidase. (J:112120)
