A gene fragment including part of exon 11 and all of intron 11 and exon 12 was replaced with a cDNA that results in joining of exon 11 to all exons 3' of exon 11. RT-PCR and Northern blot analysis confirmed the absence of transcript of the alternative splicing form of Brca1 that lacks exon 11; however, full length transcript is present. (J:112308)
