A VICTR21 retroviral promoter trap was inserted into intron 10, inactivating Casc1. The integration physically splits the Casc1 gene by producing two fusion transcripts. The splice donor in VICTR21 is preceded by stop codons in all three reading frames to prevent expression of fusion transcripts. (J:111629)
